Herd Manager Position on a 400 cow Grassland Spring Calving Dairy at Shawsholm Farm near Dumfries in South West Scotland

Working with the farm manager & apprentice to run a 400 cow Friesian/Jersey Herd focusing on Our People, Our Grass and Our Cows. Milking twice a day through a herringbone parlour. Cows at grass as many days as the year as possible but housed during dry period. Calves reared for 2 weeks on farm and moved to contract rarer. Block calving in Feb/March.

Role would involve looking after the herd health and grassland management of the farm with the help of the farm manager.

The farm is part of the greater wider network of Farming Partners which allows group learning opportunities and a network for ideas and opportunities.
