A family-owned dairy, beef & arable business extending to 2,400 acres between Taunton & Ilminster, Somerset. 1,000 cows are milked across three units, within 3 miles of each other. All arable operations are carried out in-house with a modern fleet of John Deere machinery equipped with the latest technology.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate herdsperson to join the team to assist with all aspects of day-to-day cow care & herd management during the busy Autumn calving period on a 400 cow grazing dairy unit.

The cows are milked x2 daily through a modern 20/40 GEA milking parlour, with well-equipped handling facilities, including ACR, auto ID, segregation gate and automatic footbath. Calves are reared on H & L automatic CalfExpert feeders. There is a particular emphasis on continued progression of herd health, fertility and grazing management.

Whilst basic dairy experience is preferred, this opportunity is ideally suited to someone with a positive attitude, eagerness to learn and ambition to help the farm progress.

As ever, we endeavour to develop all staff members skills and ongoing training is a large aspect of the role. Following calving, involvement across the wider business will be encouraged and the job role can be adapted to suit individuals interest and experience to include tractor driving and general farm work.A full driving license is required.
