To assist in day to day operations on the estate from Tractor and Telehandler driving. Grass cutting. Hedge cutting and Timber processing.

Would you like a fantastic opportunity to carry out grounds person on our beautiful private estate just outside Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will need to have an interest in working outside in all weathers with an existing friendly team, be practically minded and physically fit as this role involves, but not limited to, timber processing, hedge cutting, lawn mowing, tractor and telehandler operations. Training will be provided for all aspects of this role.

The successful candidate will have a mature attitude to work. You will be expected to have a friendly and helpful manner, a can do attitude and be able to work well within the existing team of gardeners.

This seasonal role is 40 hours per week, 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday from 1st April to 31st October 2025. Rate of pay will be at the new national living wage from 1st April 2025. https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates

The Estate you will be working in is 1200 acres of mixed woodland, livestock farming and one of the finest private gardens in Europe, the gardens were designed by award winning garden designer Tom Stuart Smith. Competence in the items listed below is preferred.

Tractor and Telehandler

Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools

Landscape maintenance techniques

Familiarity with groundskeeping practices

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Strong attention to detail
