We are an equine feed manufacturing business producing baled and dried forage over 3500 acres of crops in North Hertfordshire. We can provide accommodation and transport if required. We are looking for keen individuals to join our Forage Harvesting team from May - October - exact dates negotiatable . All equipment is up to date with a range of new Fendt and John Deere tractors a New Holland Forage Harvester and Kuhn grass equipment.
Role 1 - Trailer, Merger, Tedder and Trainee Forage Harvester Operator - This role is for someone looking gain experience driving a Forage Harvester and start to take on Team Leadership responsibilities. You will be operating all of the Field Harvest equipment, 18T NC Trailer (JD 6R155), Kuhn 11m Merger (Fendt 718), Kuhn 13m Tedder and when required a New Holland FR550 (2025). You will need to have experience of harvesting grass and be over 21 so you can move the forage harvester on the road. If you are keen to start taking on a management roll this is a great opportunity to learn. Good maintenance and clear record keeping are a key part of this roll.
Role 2/3 - Silage Trailer Operator (May/June - September/October) - This role is for someone keen to operate a large silage trailer carting grass and lucerne to our drying facility. You will be operating a John Deere 6R155 with NC silage trailers. You will responsible for greasing and servicing of equipment as well as record taking. There will be an opportunity to operate a Kuhn Tedder and Merger for the right candidate. The harvesting is 6 days per week (shorter Saturday), with some work tedding and merging available on Sunday. 18+
Role 4 - Triple Mower Operator - This role is for someone to operate a Fendt 728 with Kuhn Triple Mowers. You will be mowing in front of the Forage harvesting team as well as the baling team covering large varying acreage per day (200+ on some days). You will have experience operating machinery however, specific mower training can be given. Mechanical knowledge is a must as you will be operating alone. Strict record keeping and an understanding of crops is also required. 21+.
All successful applicants will have a a willingness to learn, a desire to work and a positive attitude towards a grease gun.
A range of accommodation can be provided as well as transport. Long Hours are available throughout the May - late September period with a chance to visit London and surrounding areas on non-production days (Sunday).
Full clean UK driving Licence required.
