We are looking for a long term member of staff.
The farm has an arable cropping area of 1200 acres along with 800 acres of grassland/grazing with a large Aberdeen Angus X Suckler herd. We operate a range of modern farm machinery (9 Series Fendts, Claas grassland machinery & balers & 8m Horsh drill).
You will be joining a small, experienced team who undertake all of the primary cultivation and drilling in house on the farm. This role offers a very diverse range of work and is a great opportunity to become part of a team
The role encompasses a wide variety of Livestock work along with some tractor work during harvest:
You will be responsible for your own HGV Lorry and we expect a clean, tidy and well-maintained vehicle. Care for all machinery and attention to detail are essential.
The role will involve working with our beef Suckler Herd & young stock from calving through to fattening , along with all routine livestock duties during winter housing.
We would like the following attributes:
HGV 1 & 2 required - We expect experience with the transportation of livestock & Straw/Hay
Hard working attitude - Long hours are often necessary during the busy periods, a positive hardworking attitude is vital
Basic mechanical knowledge essential
Telehandler certificate
Team player with good communication skill - The right candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills with ability to work as part of a team and alone
Honesty and co-operation are important along with a clean & tidy appearance
