Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the team looking after 400 autumn block calving cows. The successful candidate will work alongside the herdsmen helping with all day to day tasks including milking through the 20/40 herringbone parlour. The majority of the herd calve outside during a 12 week period starting early August. We are a grazing based herd with the cows at grass normally from late February till late October. During the winter the cows are housed on deep sand cubicles. We do all our own AI so the ability to AI would be an advantage but not essential, if interested training can be provided. All records are kept on 'Uniform' software. We have 800 cows in total on the farm in 2 herds of 400 so youll be working within a bigger team. The successful applicant will receive a competitive wage with pension, regular time off and onsite accommodation on the farm.
