I previously farmed 300 mules and texel cross mules of my own in Ireland. While working as a self employed farm hand I have worked with a variety of breeds of sheep including, Suffolks, Texels, Charolais, Scottish Black Face, Herdwicks and commercial mules. I am confident with all elements of sheep husbandry and have completed many lambing seasons both indoor and outdoor. Lambing up to 1500 ewes indoors and 500 outdoors. I have worked with a variety of breeds of cows and I am confident with calving. I have experience with de-horning and castrating young calves. I have a small bit of Dairy experience. I also used to breed Pygmy goats and Cobb Ponies. Im currently employed as a shepherd where I take full responsibility of a flock of 700 Mule Ewes. With my current employment I also assist with beef cattle, B&B Pigs and the Arable Harvest.

I have a fiance , Zoe, she currently works part time in Pig Procurement as a livestock planner in North Yorkshire. We have a 1 year old daughter, Fiadh. Zoe comes from a farming background, and travelled the world working in shearing sheds as a wool handler. Zoe helps out on the farm when she can and would be happy to do so in future employment if required.

Sheep Shearing Competitions. I have represented Ireland on numerous occasions. I represented Ireland in the 6 nations Machine Shearing. I also made the final of the Senior All Nations Machine Shearing in France at the World Championships in 2019.

Since leaving school at 16 I have worked as a self employed farm hand and sheep shearer. I also previously farmed 300 ewes of my own in Ireland. I have worked on a variety of farms, I am confident with all elements of sheep and cattle husbandry. I have spent many seasons lambing and calving. I have experience in fencing. I am a professional sheep shearer, I have shorn in the UK, Ireland, Norway and New Zealand. As previously mentioned I am currently a full time shepherd, caring for a flock of 700 mule ewes with the assistance of my team of working dogs. I am extremely proud of the standard of the dogs I own. My main dog, Pete, I would class as a dog in a lifetime. Alongside Pete I currently run three other collies, two bitches, Jan & Sky, which I have bought and developed also a young dog, Todd, who I bred from Pete & Jan. Rounding out the team I also have Fern and pup Mac, the Huntaways.
