I have worked on a 80 dairy herd along with 100 beef cows, I also worked with 300 ewes on the first farm. I have also work with 650 dairy cows which are autumn calving based and I help with the calves dehorning, worming and fly tagging them. I am qualified in artificial insemination and foot trimming. I have also worked on a 350 all year round fair farm and was the manager of the farm which included record keeping leasing with the owner and the vets for fortnightly routine visits.

Relevant health problems

I have type 1 diabetes which is controlled by insulin and blood monitoring. I maintain this very well therefore it does not effect my day to day life.

Farming background

I began as a herdsman on a small diary farm in my local village, where I carried out a lot of tractor work alongside milking. I then left here to join a larger dairy farm in oxford, I began as a herdsman and then got promoted to assistant manager, my move greatly improved my skills and knowledge, after 4 years here I moved back to Gloucestershire to be closer to family who at the time wasn't well so needed to be close to them. I moved to a 350 dairy farm all year round calving which I was manager of this role included leasing with the vets for fortnightly visits and also keeping in close contact with the owner on improving the farm as we expanded. Other roles included ai records medication records and ordering food and bedding.
