2008 - 2015 - working on a 900 sow breeding to finishing site
Mainly working on the dry side department and became head of the department after 1 year
I was responsible for mucking out, serving, small repairs and general farm work in that department. Other jobs including move pigs between departments and washing the sheds out
2015-2017staying within the same company put moved to a 350 sow unit do I could train to become a manager, whist there I was in charge of most departments and gained a lot of experience with people
2017-to 2017
Moved areas due to my partners work and took a job on a farm,as head stockperson but I was travelling 1/12 hours a day and having a child just starting school this didnt work out
2018- current ( with a 9 month gap) working on a large breeding site that is fully automated. On this farm I had to adapt to a different way of farming as it was a lot more technical and computerised but I think I quickly changed and enjoyed the challenge
For the past two years I have been the manager and have been looking after the day to day operations of the unit. This includes setting up a routine, training staff , keep the unit clean and most importantly looking after the pigs to the higest possible standard
