Other livestock experience

I have one years experience in a team working beef cattle, being involved in movements, tb testing and winter housing. I have also previously lived on a beef farm, spending a lot of time around livestock.

For two years I was a shepherds assistant, looking after 1500 breeding ewes. I have partaken in medications, vaccinations, ringing and tagging of lambs, sheering and livestock movements too.

I currently work on a beef farm, with Belted Galloways, Aberdeen Angus and Beef Shorthorn, currently in winter housing, which requires daily scraping out of feed areas, bedding up and feeding. I assist the livestock manager with routine tasks such as separating breeding groups, bolusing, group movements, fly and worm treatments, calving, and any other tasks we have come up.
