I currently work every other weekend so that not to impede my academic studies and to get the most of my university experience. The farm currently has around 360 organic Holstein/Friesian cows in milk milking 3 times a day. This is primarily a milking job along with some yard work. Velcourt HARVEST 2018 A harvest to remember seeing weather that was almost to perfect, during my time here I carried out my primary role of corn cart as well as worked clearing trees. During my time here I gained a range of experience not just practical farming experience but in terms of working with a large range of people a learning how best to work with each other to get the job done. 09/2017 – 06/2018 Alongside studying agriculture at Sparsholt college, I work every Friday and on alternate weekends at a dairy farm. My responsibilities here include mixing and feed the TMR ration to the 240 high-yielding Holstein dairy cows. Other responsibilities include scraping out, bedding, sand beds, milking, tending young stock, slurry and muck spreading.
