I was brought up around Cambridge on an arable farm, Having worked around the world on different farming enterprises from USA NZ and Oz. from silage, hay, straw, cultivation beet planting and across most combine able and a fair variety root crops (both Planting and lifting)

I have also ran combines (New Holland TR98 in Australia, JD 660 rotary in USA for custom crew and a CAT Lexion 480r in New Zealand and a lexion 780 for two seasons in the UK)

I have ran bothe JCB, Claas scorpion and manito telehandlers for grain lorry loading and straw stacking and loading, along with other day to day work that comes on farms. I have also ran a JCB 435 for a few days on grass/Maize silage harvest but limited experiance.

Equipment

Used tractor and trailers over harvest for carting all kinds of material from beet carting silage, grain into pits/outdoors or in sheds. aswell as a Grain Chaser in america for harvest with multiple harvesters.

Worked with cultivation equipment both large and small, and across a few major brands (vaderstad, Simba Kvernland etc.) I have worked as the primary cultivator using simba SLD 600 on a CAT Crawler inter changing with a Topdown 700, whilst also in previous season on vegetable farms running ridgers,bedformers and tillers. i have ran a few ploughs mainly kvernland 4/5 furrow ploughs and one 6 furrow conventional plough in New Zealand.

I have run a Kvernland Optima 12 row and 16 row planter for Beet and sweedes and ran a roller drill for grass lays.

used Bogballe Fert spreader.

In USA completed a CDL to run trucks for the custom crew moving grain and equipment around the country.

Silage equipment Ive ran including 4 and 2 Claas rakes, lely and Claas tedders. and have run a small Massey conventional baler for lucerne Hay.

Roadside and on farm verge/hedgecutting with a mcconnell hedgecuttter.

More recently i have worked on a large scale farm running a lexion 780 combine and agrifac condor 4 for 2 seasons

Other livestock experience

All stock experience is limited to college work in practical lessons. I am more competent with sheep than with cattle.

I used to run a Young Farmers club when I lived in Cambridgeshire, and try to stay in touch with the Bedfordshire YFC although not part of a club. I play most sports having played for football, cricket and tennis clubs when younger although now play more leisurely, I currently play for Old Warden Cricket club and also whilst in Australia I played for Coroow. I also have a Youtube channel with farming related videos which i enjoy filming and creating. i also volunteered at the cricket world cup at headingley working as part of the cricketeers crew.

All my jobs to date have been arable enterprises: 1000 acre arable Near Great Wilbraham (Newmarket) farm, harvest work (Wheat, Barley, Peas, Chick Peas, OSR, Sugarbeet) Cultivations (Simba Mono, Maximix,subsoiler, on New Holland TM 190 or 155) Fertliser spreading on New Holland tm155 With Amazone spreader. 3000 Estate acre harvest Near Stechworth (Newmarket) job carting on New Holand TS135a 14t marston trailor. 4000 acre spring/Harvest/autumn placement near Thorney (Peterborough) 2 weeks at Easter on John Deere 8430 with a Kuhn 6m power Harrow, Carting on John Deere 6920s with a 14t bailey trailer in summer (wheat, OSR Mustard,Peas) some cultivation work taking out tramlines and some ploughing experiance. 300 acre College Farm mixed cattle (Red Polls) Sheep and arable crops(OSR, Wheat, Barley, Sugar Beet, Beans). I have had an active roll in all areas of the college farm working on days of as an extra farm worker for experiance only. this resulted in me doing most of the land work once back after placement (October) for the 2014/15 season(ploughing Sugar Beet/Bean land, muck spreading, Fertliser spreading, Discovating and working land down ready for drilling, calibrating drill and some drill operating both cereal and beet drill.) I have also worked abroad in New Zealand and Australia, in Australia I drove a New Holland TR98 combine. and in New Zealand I drove an array of silage equipment (4 rotor rakes, tedders and a JCB 435 making clamps for a short perod, and a JCB loadall making straw stacks, I also did a lot of muck spreading on a JD 7430. I also returned a second time to run a beet planter and help with silage and grain harvest operations, running a fendt 720 on a 12 row and a 16 row beet planters, and then moving to a Lexion 480r for harvest. I have also spent time in USA working for a Custom Cutting Crew based in Kansas where we drove the length of the country following the harvest and the stayed on to complete fall harvest.I mainly ran a combine for the summer ( a John Deere 660) and then moved to trucks and chaser bin work in fall (JD 8320r and brent avalancche 30t chaser). In the UK I have worked in between these experiances abroad at varied farms and contractors including, driving a Cat Challender 875c in hertfordshire as primary cultivation with a SImbe SLD 600 and Vaderstad Topdow 700 and rexus 1050. I also spent a season in Yorkshire for a large silage contractor near Skipton running a Fendt 716 and bailey trailer with some tedding and raking duties.
